You're just uninstalling a program and drivers why bother with this? Anything telling you to exclude it's folder from a virus scan seems pretty suspect in my opinion. It works just fine without all of those warnings and preparation. I'll hedge my bets with Windows uninstall. It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues. Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe). If you are using DDU in normal mode, Clean, reboot, clean again, reboot. The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best. Please install in a local drive (C:, D: or else). You MUST disconnect your internet or completely block Windows Update when running DDU until you have re-installed your new drivers.ĭDU should be used when having a problem uninstalling / installing a driver or when switching GPU brand.ĭDU should not be used every time you install a new driver unless you know what you are doing.ĭDU will not work on network drive. "Keep note that NVIDIA/AMD did not have anything to do with this, I do not work at or for NVIDIA/AMD and they should not be held responsible for anything that may go wrong with this application." There's a higher chance of losing PC files from windows updates than using DDU. I've been using DDU for the past 5 years without a single issue. do you really want to lose your computer or files, when you could actually get good at what your computer is capable of doing yourself? While those programs MIGHT work and do exactly what they say they do, the risks for when they are compromised, downloaded from a scam site, or other such malign uses. Inform yourself before trying to do something and don't fall for the "download this to fix everything!" links.
